Plain-film X-ray remains the fastest way to image bone, joint and chest detail. All X-rays are walk-in, with no appointment needed during clinic hours.

What to expect

  • Hand your referral to reception when you arrive — most patients are scanned within 15 minutes.
  • The radiographer positions you and takes the images — typically a few seconds each.
  • Reports reach your referring doctor within 48 hours, usually sooner for plain X-ray.

How to prepare

  • Bring your referral and Medicare card.
  • Wear comfortable clothing without metal in the area being imaged where possible.
  • Let us know if there's any chance you could be pregnant.
