Billing & fees
What you'll pay — before you walk in.
Most Medicare-rebated studies cost you nothing. A small number of services are flat-fee or attract a gap. We tell you what to expect at the time of booking — no surprises at the desk.
Bulk billed (no out-of-pocket cost)
With a valid Medicare-eligible referral, the following are bulk billed — you sign the bulk-billing form at reception and walk out without paying:
- General X-rays
- All dental X-rays
- CT scans (except Calcium Scores)
- CT-guided injections
- Rebateable MRI scans
- Every Medicare-rebated study for pension and concession card holders, including ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections and biopsies
- Bone density (DEXA) scans where you're eligible
Transparent pricing
A small number of studies don't have a Medicare rebate, or attract a private gap. We list the fees here and confirm the cost before you book:
- CT Calcium Score — $155. Cardiovascular risk screening. GP referral required; no Medicare rebate.
- Non-rebateable MRI — $315. For studies that fall outside the Medicare-rebateable MRI items.
- 3D / 4D baby scan — $205. Keepsake add-on to a medical pregnancy ultrasound.
- General ultrasound — from $115 (private gap). Concession and pension card holders are bulk billed.
- Obstetric ultrasound — $155 (private gap). Concession and pension card holders are bulk billed.
- Ultrasound-guided injections — $155 (private gap). CT-guided injections are bulk billed, and concession and pension card holders are bulk billed for both.
- Biopsy — $255 (private gap). Concession and pension card holders are bulk billed.
- Body composition scan — $75.
How we bill
For bulk-billed studies, billing is direct with Medicare — there's nothing for you to claim.
For flat-fee or gap-fee studies, payment is taken at the time of service via card or cash. We provide an itemised receipt. Where a partial Medicare rebate applies, we can submit the claim on your behalf and the rebate is paid directly into your nominated bank account by Medicare.
Concessions and DVA
Pension and concession card holders are bulk billed for every Medicare-rebated study, including ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections and biopsies. Studies with no Medicare rebate (CT Calcium Score, non-rebateable MRI, 3D/4D baby scans and body composition) have the same set fee for everyone. DVA card holders are billed direct to DVA.
Workers' compensation, CTP and Medico-legal
For workplace, third-party and medico-legal imaging, we bill the relevant insurer or organisation directly using the claim number provided on your referral.
