Ultrasound-guided $155 (private gap)

Bulk billed for pension and concession card holders

Ultrasound and CT-guided injections target medication precisely to the structure causing your pain — joints, tendon sheaths, bursae, nerve roots and facet joints. Performed by experienced radiologists, often a more accurate alternative to landmark-guided injections.

What to expect

  • Quiet, private procedure room with one of our radiologists.
  • The skin is cleaned and a small amount of local anaesthetic numbs the area.
  • Ultrasound (or CT for spinal procedures) guides the needle in real-time.
  • Allow up to 45 minutes at the clinic.

How to prepare

  • Continue your normal medication unless we or your doctor has advised otherwise.
  • Bring any prior imaging or reports your doctor referenced in the referral.
  • Arrange for a driver if possible.

CT-guided injections are bulk billed. Ultrasound-guided injections have a private gap of $155. Concession and pension card holders are bulk billed for both, and reception confirms the cost when you book.
